# Commands & Permissions

> A complete reference of player, administrative, and maintenance commands in SentrySettings.

SentrySettings is designed to be frictionless and intuitive. Regular players do not need complex permissions to open and customize their own settings, while administrators have granular tools to reload configurations, reset player caches, and review license status.

## Player Commands

**/settings** `Command`

Opens the main interactive SentrySettings GUI where players can configure personal preferences, toggle visual alerts, and activate client-side optimizers.

**Command Details**

* **Aliases:** `/setting`
* **Permission:** None (Available to all players by default)

## Administrator Commands

All administrative subcommands require the `settings.admin` permission:

> **/settings reload**
>
> Reloads `config.yml`, `messages.yml`, and `menu/gui.yml` from disk, applying visual updates immediately. (Alias: `/sentrysettings reload`)

> **/settings wipe \<player>**
>
> Resets all saved preferences for the specified player back to default server states in the database.

> **/settings docs**
>
> Prints interactive chat links to the official documentation and verifies your active Sentry license key.

> **/settings help**
>
> Displays a formatted in-game help menu listing all available subcommands and active syntax.

## Permission Nodes

| Permission Node | Default Access | Description |
| :- | :- | :- |
| `settings.admin` | `op` (Operators) | Grants access to `/settings reload`, `/settings wipe <player>`, `/settings docs`, and `/sentrysettings`. |
| `settings.bypass` | `op` (Operators) | Bypasses toggle interaction rate limits and security restrictions in GUI. |
| `settings.staff` | `op` (Operators) | Allows receiving staff connection notifications and toast alerts. |

> Individual setting toggles can be granted or restricted through LuckPerms if you wish to reserve premium optimizers (like `crystal-pvp-optimizer` or `night-vision-goggles`) for specific VIP ranks:
